Prosecco Doge Alvise Mocenigo II

D.O.C.G.

Doge Alvise Mocenigo the second (1628-1709) was the 110th Doge of the Serenissima Republic of Venice. The seven years of his government are remembered for the neutrality from the conflicts that bloodied Europe, a neutrality that brought Venice back to the center of international trade. Splendor and luxury at Palazzo Ducale never lacked. In the very long history of the Republic of Venice, the celebrations for his election are still remembered, for the sumptuous party and for its unusual duration. It should come as no surprise that when his last heir, Jacopo Nani Mocenigo, decided to offer his own personal selection of Prosecco D.O.C.G. found in the noble ancestor a perfect "testimonial". In the hope that the many "cheers" will bring back the happiness and light-heartedness of Venice in the early 1700s, Jacopo has chosen the gold zecchino minted for the Doge as the logo for his bottles, certain that the gold coin gold will be a good omen for all the lucky ones who toast with its Prosecco.
